Headway Nottingham exists to improve the lives of those people in Nottinghamshire who have been affected by brain injury.  Since 1996 we have been providing friendship and support after brain injury and hope that we can go on to play a pivotal role in our local community for years to come.

We are currently looking for someone exceptional to join our Board of Trustees and fill the role of “Treasurer”.  Are you working in the financial/accountancy sector? Do you have a few hours each week to offer your expertise to a small local charity working hard to improve the lives of some of the most marginalised people in our community? If so, you could be the perfect fit for Headway Nottingham.

A fantastic staff team at Headway Nottingham make sure that the day-to-day finances and operations run smoothly so that the Board can concentrate on strategy and governance. Your role will include…

  • Working with the relevant staff and committee members to oversee the financial affairs of the organisation and ensure its future viability.
  • Helping us to maintain and improve our financial procedures and governance.
  • Reporting back to the Board on the financial health of Headway Nottingham.
  • Liaising with relevant staff to appraise the viability of plans, proposals and feasibility studies.
  • Work with the Services Manager to produce an annual budget.
  • Attending a once monthly evening meeting and occasional sub-committee meetings as required.

The perfect person to fill this role will have magic money-making abilities, but we are aware that perfect does not exist. So, if you are yet to achieve money wizardry but you do have relevant senior experience in an accountancy/financial role (knowledge or experience in the charitable sector an advantage but not essential), an ability to communicate effectively and a willingness to make a difference to those most in need, we would welcome your application.
