We currently have two opportunities to join our brilliant Support Worker team at our brain injury rehabilitation and support day centre in Bilborough. 

We are looking for two part time Support Workers to provide respectful support to clients living with the effects of brain injury, over 20 hours per week each.  This roles would suit someone with either previous experience in a similar role or someone with the necessary qualifications looking to start their career within the care sector. 

Essential requirements

The successful candidates will deliver professional, impartial and enabling support to clients living with the effects of brain injury who attend our day centre.  We need you to either have experience in a similar role or be qualified to NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and have:

  • Worked with people affected by brain injury/have awareness about brain injury and its common effects (desirable)
  • Be familiar with the Safeguarding framework
  • Be confident, patient, empathetic and enthusiastic working with those living with the effects of brain injury
  • Accurate report writing and be able to maintain computerised records
  • Experience working as part of a team
  • Competence using computers and MS Office
  • Possess a Drivers Licence, with access to your own vehicle (desirable)

Responsibilities and tasks include

  • Working under the direction of the Senior Support Workers and Service Manager to deliver meaningful outcomes to those accessing the service
  • Developing and delivering workshops and activities that enable the client to reach their identified goals and objectives
  • Assisting and motivating clients to participate in activities to improve self-esteem; encouraging them to learn compensatory strategies for overcoming difficulties related to their brain injury
  • Keeping accurate records whilst being aware and mindful of confidentiality and data protection regulations
  • Preparation and delivery of hot meals provided at lunch time
  • General housekeeping, keeping the centre clean and hygienic
  • Any other duties that may arise from time to time


£8,840pa (full time equivalent 37.5 hours £16,575) approx. £8.50 per hour.

You will work 5 hours per day, Monday to Thursday, between the hours of 9am and 4.30pm.  There is some flexibility within those hours. Enrolment to a pension scheme is available and mileage allowance when needed.

Your holiday entitlement will be 20 days plus Bank Holidays (pro rata).
