The restrictions of lockdown have impacted heavily on fundraising events in our community, a means of income that Headway Nottingham would usually rely on in order to continue to provide essential support and rehabilitation. Marie Bettinson, Body Shop at Home Consultant is proving that our distance need not be a barrier to raising money for local charities who really need support! Marie made her charity raffle a reality by donating items from her business and promoting tickets on her Facebook group at Body Shop at Home with Marie.  

Marie explained:

"A very close family friend of mine, who I’ve known all my life [attends Headway Nottingham].  The charity is so very dear to her so therefore is important to me too. I know Headway Nottingham help her and many others with what they do. I often make donations but wanted to do something more personal for my friend. Hopefully this will help a little towards what they do!"

 Headway Nottingham's Fundraiser, Rhiana Lakin said: 

"We've really felt the dip in fundraising donations this year. Our supporters and friends of Headway Nottingham simply aren't able to arrange the events that they usually would and we know how tight finances are for so many people at the moment. In light of all of that, Marie's support through her raffle really does mean the world to us! Every penny raised by Marie and every wonderful person who buys a raffle ticket will contribute to our services and ensure that no one who has experienced a brain injury feels alone and unsupported through this difficult time and beyond.
