All of us at Headway Nottingham were very much hoping that our face to face support would be able to resume as we rang in 2021.  Unfortunately, high rates of infection continue across the country and we have all, once again, been asked to stay at home.  We realise that the ongoing situation is incredibly difficult for many of our clients and their families, but we want you know that you are not facing these difficult times alone.

Each time there is a change to the guidance, Headway Nottingham must reflect and review its practices and procedures and make decisions about how we can safely continue to deliver services. With continuous consultation and discussion, the Board of Trustees at Headway Nottingham has decided that our centre will remain closed at this time, however our extensive remote support including welfare telephone calls, online rehabilitation and social opportunities and postal activity packs, will of course continue.

If you are within the clinically vulnerable group, you should once again take all steps to shield and you must stay at home.

We would like to take the opportunity to pay tribute to the tremendous resilience we have seen amongst our clients and families since the emergence of the virus last year. Whilst many are considered medically 'vulnerable', we know that being labelled as such does not acknowledge their immense strength and capability to weather this storm. The compassion for peers, humour and courage we have been privileged to witness continues to inspire the team and we know that every one of the Headway Nottingham family CAN get through these difficult times.

Rest assured that when it is safe to do so, Headway Nottingham's centre will reopen with the extensive measures we have in place and ready to go to minimise transmission within the building.

We understand that many of our clients feel that their mental health will suffer as a result of the closure, but please remember that we're still here if you need us.  We're all in this together with you.  Our care and support will continue, despite the distance between us, and our team will work tirelessly to deliver this support.  We are in a much better position now than we were all those months ago when the first lockdown arrived, we have much better remote provision and look forward to making sure you can all connect with us, and with each other during this unprecedented and difficult time.
